This month we chose to uplift and celebrate the greatness that is #BlackFutureMonth. Dear Black Girl is a series of letters to our younger selves. Sistahs honoring their herstory to light the way for their path.
Dear Black Girl in Pursuit of Peace,
I know that there is a storm raging around you right now. I know the situation seems chaotic and beyond your control. I know you’re scared, stressed, and angry at what the situation looks like, but God knows how the situation will end. His thoughts are not our thoughts, and His ways are not our ways. We only see the surface of the trial we are going through. We only see the impossible but with God all things are possible. You are facing your greatest trial at this very moment and the surface looks horrible. It looks doomed and discouraging but if you hold your peace, if you are still and have faith, God will not only get you through, but He will restore you and vindicate you!
I know it’s easier said than done but you must walk by faith and not by sight. Without faith, you will be like Peter who started to sink when he was called to walk on the water. He took his focus off Jesus and focused on the storm and roaring winds around him. He lost his perfect peace focusing on the storm. Even if you don’t feel like God is working on your trial or feel he’s silent, I promise you he is not. But, you must faith it until you make it! You must declare and decree that God is working on your behalf and keep your thoughts and words aligned with the promises of God.
God is with you, He is sovereign, He will uphold you with his righteous right hand. All he asks from you is to trust him, be still and keep your peace.
God Bless
